The Carolina Hurricanes said on Monday that forward Jeff Skinner suffered a concussion during Sundays preseason game against the Washington Capitals. The team said in a statement that Skinner was hurt when he was hit by Capitals defenceman Matt Niskanen. They did not say how long the 22-year-old would be out.
