CINCINNATI - The Toronto Blue Jays have quite the act to follow. The American League East leaders take aim at a second straight victory on Saturday afternoon in the middle contest of a three-game set with the Cincinnati Reds. The Blue Jays seemed well on their way to an eighth loss in 10 games in Fridays opener, falling behind 8-0 after the second inning. However, they began to chip away, starting with Edwin Encarnacions three-run homer in the third frame, and trailed 9-3 after the fifth inning before catching fire and battling back for a 14-9 win. Toronto tied the contest in the eighth inning on Dioner Navarros RBI double and Encarnacion highlighted a five-run ninth frame with another three-run homer, his MLB-leading 23rd longball of the year. Juan Francisco had a two-run homer and Brett Lawrie added a solo shot as Toronto snapped a three-game losing streak. "What a ballgame. Those things are some kind of rare," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said on his teams website. "Were down 8-0, youre scrambling, and basically all youre thinking is, How are we going to get through this game with the pitching? Then of course Edwin got us on the board, we had some other action, we kind of held them in check and then we just kind of exploded." Devin Mesoraco and Jay Bruce hit two-run homers in the big second inning for the Reds, and Mesoraco added a run-scoring groundout in the fifth inning, but Cincinnati ended up losing its second straight game after winning six of seven. "Fortunately, tonights loss counts as one loss. Unfortunately, it was an ugly loss," Reds manager Bryan Price said on his teams official website. "And that is one of the types of losses that affects everybody." Despite the epic comeback, the Blue Jays hope that starter J.A. Happ can prevent the club from falling behind big again today. Happ has won five of his last seven starts and is coming off a 5-2 victory in Baltimore on Sunday. The left-hander had one of his better outings of the year, allowing one run on seven hits over six innings while striking out six without a walk. Happ, 31, improved to 6-3 with a 4.05 earned run average on the year and is 1-2 lifetime versus the Reds with a 5.64 ERA in five meetings. Looking to right the Reds ship will be Mike Leake, but he will need to put his June struggles behind him to do so. Leake has pitched to an 8.22 ERA in three outings this month, losing the first two before getting plenty of support in a 13-4 victory over Milwaukee on Sunday. The 26-year-old righty needed the help as he allowed four runs on nine hits and three walks in five innings of work. Leake is 4-6 with a 3.80 ERA on the season and lost his only previous start against the Blue Jays on June 17, 2011, though he allowed just three runs over seven innings. Toronto is 9-4 versus Cincinnati dating back to the 2003 campaign. Nike Air Max Deluxe Nz . Under a pouring rain, West Ham defended for most of the second half and managed to contain Chelseas assaults to secure an important point in its fight to remain in the top flight next season. Demba Ba hit the post from close range in added time as Chelsea piled on the pressure but staunch defending from the Hammers prevailed. Chelsea missed the chance to draw level with second-place Arsenal and now trails Manchester City by three points after Manuel Pellegrinis team won 5-1 at Tottenham. West Ham remained in the relegation zone, two points behind 17th-place Sunderland. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho accused West Ham of playing "football from the 19th century" and said he was frustrated by the result. "Its very difficult to play a football match where only one team wants to play. Its very difficult," Mourinho said. "A football match is about two teams playing and this match was only one team playing and another team not playing." But West Ham manager Sam Allardyce was delighted that his tactics worked out perfectly. "He cant take it, can he? He cant take it because weve outwitted him. He just cant cope," Allardyce said about Mourinho. "I love to see Chelsea players moaning at the referee, trying to intimidate him, Jose jumping up and down saying we play crap football. Its brilliant when you get a result against him. Hard luck, Jose." John Terry returned for Chelsea as Jose Mourinho made six changes following Sundays win over Stoke in the FA Cup. West Ham looked comfortable early on and could have been awarded a penalty inn the sixth minute when striker Andy Carroll went down after a challenge from Cesar Azpilicueta, but referee Neil Swarbrick played on.dddddddddddd West Ham keeper Adrian then made a superb save to deny Oscars curled shot that was heading for the top corner, but that was the only real dangerous occasion for the Blues in the first half hour. West Ham forwards Andy Carroll and Mohamed Diame caused many problems in the Chelsea half while Sam Allardyces team restricted the hosts to long-range shots. But after missing a shot in the 26th minute, Diame crashed into the advertising hoardings as he apparently injured his ankle and was replaced by Matt Jarvis. West Ham defence again held firm in the 40th minute when Eden Hazard tried to find his way through, with the Belgium star forced to hit the ball straight at Adrian. Chelsea went close in first-half added time but another excellent save from Adrian denied Samuel Etoo shot from Oscars missed attempt. Chelsea dominated after the interval but struggled to break through West Hams defensive lines as Mourinho started to show signs of nervousness on the touchline. Ramires had a good chance to break the deadlock but he sent his half-volley wide in the 61st minute. Mourinho then made a double substitution, bringing in Nemanja Matic and Frank Lampard for Azpilicueta and John Obi Mikel. Oscar tried his luck in the 72nd only to see Matt Taylor blocking the ball before Lampard looked set to open the scoring, but again Taylor threw himself in the way. Hazard missed two consecutive chances after Ba hit the post and Etoo had a goal disallowed. The former Barcelona forward kicked the ball into the empty net after Adrian had placed it down for a free kick, apparently unaware that the referee had whistled for a foul. ' ' '

SALVADOR, Brazil -- Jozy Altidore is available to play for the United States in Tuesdays World Cup second-round game against Belgium, but it does not appear the forward is ready to return to the starting lineup. Altidore strained his left hamstring in the Americans opener against Ghana on June 16 and didnt play in their next two games. "We dont know how much because we need to see how hes going, but hes available," U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann said Monday. "How many minutes? We will see that during the game." Altidore had been working out on his own, jogging around the field at the Americans training camp at Sao Paulo Futebol Clube. Klinsmann said he has to determine "how much work is in his legs." Aron Johannsson replaced Altidore at forward for the remainder of the game against Ghana. But Klinsmann switched from a 4-4-2 formation to a 4-5-1 against Portugal and Germany with a fifth midfielder instead of a second forward. Altidore has 23 goals in 71 international appearances and is the top forward on the American roster. "Just having him with us tomorrow is huge," Klinsmann said. Air Max Pas Cher En Ligne .
